阿寒横断道路の弟子屈側は舗装が荒れてて、降る際は注意が必要です。
ただ、頂上付近の双岳台や走行中の景色はとてもあずましいものです。
釧路から塘路湖あたりまでは交通量が多い傾向がありますが、その他は基本的に少ないので気持ちよく走れると思います。
ただ、コンビニや自販機がかなり少ないので、補給や休憩スポットは事前によく考えて設定する必要があります。

すべてを走り切っておりませんが、走れた部分についてのみコメントさせていただきます。
景観については、変化に富んで本当に素晴らしいコースだと思います。
北海道独特の環境なのかもしれませんが、休憩できる施設や給水できる自販機を含めた施設の間隔が広く、きちんと準備していかないと暑い日などは大変だと感じています。
道路の状況はまりも国道は大型車両の通行が多く、少し怖いことと路面状態が良くない箇所が結構あると感じました。後半の細岡展望台に向かう道も舗装が悪いどころか、MTBでしか行けないようなダート道が含まれていてモデルコースとしてはいかがなものかと思いました。
辛口なコメントもありますが、全体的には結構好きなコースです。

釧路から阿寒湖の往復で利用。
徐々に高度を上げていく程よい負荷で阿寒湖畔まで到着できます。高度差は400mあって達成感はあります。ただ、R240号線は釧路〜北見間の主要な産業道路になっているだけあり、交通量が車の大小関わらずかなりあり、ドライバーのマナーとサイクリストの走行マナーが必要だとおもいます。
現在は多少良くなりつつありますが自転車が主に走行する路肩付近の道路の破損に気を使う必要があります。

釧路駅前スタートで大規模自転車道を使って阿寒湖、弟子屈、標茶、釧路をロングライドしてみました。
距離が長いため、朝6:00スタートで弟子屈で昼食と銭湯、国道３９１で帰りで日没ぎりぎりの着となりました。
コースとしては、阿寒湖畔までは釧路湿原を見ながらの平坦コースと若干きつい上り、厳しいのは阿寒湖畔から弟子屈までの国道２４１号の峠越えでしたが、双岳台からの眺めには達成感がありました。
帰りの国道３９１はアップダウンはありますが、きついというほどでは無くわりと楽に釧路に到着しました。
途中の食べ物は、阿寒湖畔のレイクロブスター、弟子屈道の駅前のつじや食堂のスープカレーと美味しくいただいてきました。
ビックリしたのは、弟子屈の銭湯の泉の湯さんで、入浴がなんと２００円でした。得した感いっぱいでした。
次は、逆回りで国道３９１から美幌峠を目指したいと思います。
